Terms of use

These terms are between you and eta reduce ("we", "us"), and cover the Sorus app and the Sorus sync service.

The app

Sorus is free to download and use. Its code is available under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0, or a commercial license from us. That license, not these terms, says what you may do with the code.

Your account

To sync, you need an account with a working email address. Keep your sign-in to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account, and for the people you invite into your workspaces.

Your content

What you write and keep in Sorus is yours. To run the sync service, you let us store, copy and send your synced content to your devices and the people you share it with, and nothing else. When you delete a workspace, we delete it from our servers.

Using it fairly

Don't use Sorus to break the law, to infringe others' rights, to store or share content that exploits or harms others, or to attack, overload or try to get around the limits of the service. We may suspend an account that does.

The service

We work to keep sync running, but we can't promise it'll never be down. We may change or stop features. If we ever shut the sync service down, we'll give at least 60 days' notice so you can make sure your devices have everything. Your notes stay on your computer either way.

No warranty

Sorus is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Keep your own backups of what matters to you.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data. Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months, which for the free service is nothing.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell people with accounts before it takes effect. You can stop using Sorus and delete your account at any time.
