Welcome
Sorus is a desktop app for notes, the things your notes are about, and your day. It keeps everything in a workspace on your own computer, and works without an account or a connection.
What's in Sorus
- Pages. Write in Markdown. Pages nest inside each other like folders, and link to each other with
[[. - Objects and types. A person, a book, a project: each is an object of a type you define, with fields. An object opens as a page, so it has room for notes too.
- Jot. A blank line to catch anything: a thought, a measurement, a new object, or the start of a page.
- Today. What you're doing now, and the day as a timeline. Sorus notices the blanks in your day and asks what happened.
- Calendar. Events and tasks, repeating or not. Sorus can plan your tasks into the free time around your events.
- Extensions. Add apps, types, views of your objects, blocks for pages, and commands. Sorus comes with a few of its own.
How it fits together
Everything in a workspace is an object: pages, people, events, even a math formula in a page. A page can embed any object, a type can link to any other type, and a saved view can list objects of any type.
You move around with the sidebar, tabs, and the command palette (⌘K), which finds every page, object, place and command by name.
Shortcuts
Shortcuts in these docs are written for macOS. On Windows and Linux, use Ctrl where you see ⌘.
