Code
Fence code with three backticks, and name the language after the opening ones:
md
```python
def greet(name):
return f"Hello, {name}"
```Sorus colors the code. It knows most common languages, by name or by an alias such as js, ts or py. /code inserts an empty fence.
Code block objects
A code block object (/code block, or the braces button in the toolbar) is a small code editor inside the page. It has a language field (empty is plain text), a copy button, bracket matching, and Tab to indent. It saves when you click away.
Use a fence for code you read with the page; use a code block object for code you edit often.
Math
Write LaTeX between dollar signs:
$e^{i\pi} + 1 = 0$for math within a line;$$\int_0^1 x^2\,dx$$for display math./mathor the toolbar's Σ button inserts one.
Math renders as you move the caret away. Put the caret beside it to see and edit its LaTeX again.
Each formula is saved as an object, so copying it within Sorus copies the formula itself; pasting elsewhere gives its $…$ text.
Tables
Write Markdown tables:
md
| Book | Rating |
| --- | --- |
| Dune | 5 |/table inserts a two-column table to start from.
