Activities
An activity is something you do over a stretch of time: writing, a meeting, lunch. One activity runs at a time. Switching to another ends the one before, so your day has no gaps unless you leave them.
What's running
The foot of the sidebar always shows what's running and for how long. Click it for:
| Item | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Switch to… (or Start…) | ⇧⌘S |
| End… (now or earlier) | ⇧⌘E |
| Started at… | ⇧⌘L |
| Rename… | |
| Open Today |
The shortcuts work anywhere.
Switch
⇧⌘S, type what you're doing, press ↵. Recent activities are offered as chips. You can also switch by typing now writing in Jot, or plain writing on Today's timeline.
End, or fix the times
Things rarely start and stop when you press a key. When asked for a time, you can type:
now10m ago,1h ago2:10,2:10pm,14:10,9am
A bare time means the most recent one that's already passed.
- End… stops the activity now or earlier. If you end it earlier, the time after it becomes a blank.
- Started at… moves its start, when you began before you switched.
Log something that already happened
Type a time range and what it was, in Jot or on Today:
2-3pm design reviewAdjust on the timeline
On Today's timeline, click an activity for Ended at… (or Ended early…), Started late…, Rename… and Delete.
Drag an activity's top or bottom edge to move its start or end. The neighbouring activity moves with it, so no gap opens. Hold ⌥ while dragging to move only this one.
Events start themselves
When an event on your calendar begins while Sorus is open, Sorus switches to it, so time in meetings is logged without you doing anything. Adjust it afterwards on Today if you need to.
