Line syntax

Jot, the ⌘J bar and Today's line all read a typed line the same way. Before you press ↵, each says what the line will do.

stop, done or idleEnd what's runningstop
now + textSwitch to an activitynow reading
note + textA momentnote bought tickets
time range + textAn activity that already happened2-3pm design review
name + numberA measurementmood 4

Jot also reads two more:

Time ranges

The two ends can be split by -, –, — or to:

  • 2-3pm, 2pm to 3pm, 9:30-10:15, 14:00-15:30
  • With am or pm on one end, the other takes it too.
  • With neither, Sorus picks the reading that ended most recently: at 4pm, 2-3 means 2 to 3pm.

A range is placed on the day you're looking at.
